Finally we have some nice weather! We got out to do some field training with the dogs. Reed did a few puppy retrieves and we brought him to the pond for a look around.
That is as far as he would venture into the water but my guess it won't take him long to go right in. The water is still a bit chilly.
And because he is so cute playing with his little rubber duckie......
I have started on his training, I know hard to tell with all the pictures :0)
He has been working on the Third way attention foundation game but his attention span isn't very long at the moment. I have also started him on recalls. He is very investigative and a bit indepentent.

Early Puppy Pictures
I thought I would post Reed's early puppy pictures before I even knew what puppy was going to be mine. I went thru them and found ones where I could see him. He was wearing the dark blue ric rac. Here he is at around 2 weeks.
7 weeks. This is when I knew he was my puppy! I had third pick male. All of these puppies went into working homes. I still had to wait another week until he was old enough to fly.

He is Here!
I want to introduce Reed my new Golden Retriever puppy. I've had many breeds but am new to Goldens. Getting a Golden has been on my bucket list for many years and I finally found the breeding I was looking for. This blog is going to be about our journey together whether training, competing or when he just makes me laugh.
This is his sire NDC NMFR Rockerin Red River Ruckus and his dam Ram River Bella. Reed came all the way from sunny California.
He arrived by air at the Detroit airport and with the help of another puppy buyer arrived in Canada early Sunday evening. It was a three hour drive for us and he was great at letting me know he had to go. We had to stop twice along the way. Here he is sleeping on the way home.
That night we found out he has a great set of lungs, thankfully it didn't last long as he was pretty tired. We weren't so lucky the next day, lol.
