Update

I've been sadly ignoring updating Reed's blog.

We have been very busy with hunt test and Rally free.

He completed his WCX and SH titles and obtained one Master pass this past year.

A long time

since I updated Reed's blog!  He has been busy with hunt tests and rally free.  He has also started scent detection, which he loves and is catching on really quickly to.

 

His first Senior pass!

 

Reed passed two UKC seasoned tests in August.

Reed placed 1st in Rally free for his second leg!

Of course we have time for fun too :0)

Rally Free

Reed did his first video rally free competition last month and placed 2nd! Very happy with my boy.  I don't think his tail stopped wagging through the whole routine :0)

Its been awhile!

We have had a very busy summer with lots of training and only running a couple of trials so far.  I did have fun with my wheatfield photo shoot with the dogs.

 

 

Reed did finish is WC title in July           

and picked up a UKC started pass.  He is still not quite ready to run the next level yet.

 

Reed has also received some health clearances, his hips are rated good, his elbows normal, heart normal, eyes cerfed and he is PRA 1 & 2 clear.  It was very nice to get these all done finally.

A few pics of Reed at our training day.  He did well, nice and steady stepped on two of the marks, a small hunt on one in cover and lined the short blind.

Junior Hunter Title

I'm a little slow in posting this but Reed finished his Junior Hunter title back in September :0)

First hunt

Yesterday we got up at the early hour of 4:30am to go goose hunting.  Not something I do a lot of, lol but I did it for Reed. 

We got all set up before it started to get light and now we just sit and wait patiently for birds.

Look as his face, his eyes are popping out of his head, he was so excited to be out.  He knew something was up and this was not training....

Here he is trying to figure out how to pick the goose up, they are pretty heavy....

He figures it out.....

Keeping Cool

It's been one hot summer so far and keeping the dogs occupied and cool has been a challenge!

We took them to the beach.  Reed had a blast.  We threw rocks in the water for them to chase and Reed tried to look for them, silly boy, lol.

We also played with the dog pool and the hose.  He was a little cautious at first about the spray.
